Mission of MOCAP:
Nurture, enhance and promote the role of APRNs in Missouri
At the February 22, 2010 meeting, one of the immediate tasks was to better understand the challenges faced by Advanced Practice Nurses and develop strategies to either improve or remove the situations. Each representative was to go to their groups and seek feedback regarding APNs barriers to their ability to practice and care for patients.
We as APNs must have a clear and well defined understanding of our professional environment. This clear understanding can only occur if we as professionals respond and provide the needed feedback to aide in strategic planning for our professional future.
MOCAP represents all APNs within the state, whether they are MONA members or not. To be successful with this, we need your voice. Without your voice, our profession as APNs in Missouri will remain the same without chance of change.
Please take the time to send me or Jill Kleithermes your anonymous “Top 5” barriers to your practice. (the responses can be either by e-mail or conventional postal services) These 5 responses need not be lengthy. Just clear to as what you believe is keeping you from practicing professionally as completely as you desire. I understand how some would be uncomfortable providing such information. This is why you may send your input to the following addresses. If you do decide to indicate your identity, it will be kept confidential. We need to have the responses completed by April 2, 2010 so as to have review completed in time for the next MOCAP meeting on April 14, 2010.
